Razor Bump Preventer and Treatment
Shaving with a blade takes off a fine layer of skin as well as the hair, causing irritation and bumps. The condition of razor bumps is caused by a curved follicle (hair) tip curving back and penetrating the skin. The curved hair grows in an arch rather than a straight line. Curving back towards the skin, the follicle pierces the dermal layer and becomes ingrown. More ....
First timer, a man's view
I've been shaving for 5 weeks now, and my skin is much smoother now after 5 weeks. I've looked at a few web sites, most say similar things, but people are different and so different methods suit different people. Time to experiment techniques that suit you.
I've been shaving every 2-3 days, I recently left it for 5 days, this if anything made it a little more sensitive to the odd red bump. I get no itching at all, red bumps are my only complaint, and I don't get many of them 4-6 at a time. I've seen far worse on porn web sites.
I was a little apprehensive the first few times, feeling a little embarrass if anyone found out what I'd done.
Kinda sexy, but embarrass at the same time. After a while I've heard different things people say, and I brought up the subject in the Pub a few weeks ago, and to my shock! more than half the men confessed to shaving themselves. I still haven't told anyone, as it's a private thing. But I don't feel as scared about meeting a girl, and her finding out, and dealing with her reaction. Looking in the mirror now seems strange to imagine having hair there. I think it looks more cleaner and tidy. My only concern is that people might think it looks pre-pubescent which is worrying, as I'm not trying to emulate a child in any way! My plan is to keep it this way for at least 6 months, at that time I'll see if the skin has toughened up to the shaving, but if the red bumps are still there, I think I'll re-grow the Pubes.
