Until recently the word smoothy or smoothie was unknown in the nudist world, but now it is becoming fully accepted. Smoothies drop their last piece of clothing - their pubic hair - and so these naturists are barer than nude! The word ‘smooth’ refers to the clean shaven body. The pleasure of being nude, the beauty of a smooth, shaved body
In 1991 an English couple founded an international naturist club, "the Smoothie Club." The word smooth refers to the clean-shaven body. Members of this club drop their last piece of "clothing" - their pubic hair and so they are barer than nude! A "smoothie" is also used to describe an acomoclitic naturist. Acomoclitic can be used to describe a male or a female who has a preference for hairless genitals.
The Smoothie Club wanted to promote the ideal of a smooth and hairless body so making this barest of naturism more widely accepted. Furthermore the club offered members the chance of getting in touch with other members all over the world.
International Smoothie Club
For a long time, we (a smooth Dutch couple for years) were the only Dutch members. In 1993 we decided to give greater publicity to the club here in the Netherlands and founded the Dutch branch, the International Smoothie Club. Besides, we started the organisation of many activities: weekly evenings in saunas and swimming pools, summer meetings all over the country, weekends in a naturist hotel in Germany, nudist cruises in Croatia and our yearly International Smoothie Days at Flevo-Natuur, a naturist campsite centrally situated in the Netherlands. Membership grew rapidly. Worldwide our activities were paid attention to by television, radio and press. In 1996 we decided to separate from the British Smoothie Club. The name of the Dutch organisation was changed into "World of the Nudest Nudist" (WNN). Club activities are now organized by the "Nederlandse (Dutch) Smoothy Club" (NSC), a WNN branch.
Nudist, naturists, ideology
We preferred to use the word nudist, not naturist, because the word nudist is fully accepted all over the world. Besides, we want to be distinguishable from naturists, a word which is often, and especially in the Netherlands, used by people who consider naturism a way of life. Sometimes even the consumption of meat and alcohol is repudiated.
World of the Nudest Nudist is in no way based on an ideology. The aim of WNN is to introduce the pleasure of being nude to a public as large as possible (worldwide). Following the ancient Greek, WNN also aims to promote the classical aesthetic ideal of a smooth and hairless body. Ancient Greek and Romans already considered this an expression of beauty and youth.
